This artwork features a striking diptych of minimalistic black and white compositions, each within its own frame. The left piece displays an abstract pattern reminiscent of a butterfly, with bold black lines radiating symmetrically from a central axis, creating a dynamic yet harmonious balance. The right piece contrasts with a different composition, featuring a geometric assemblage of rectangles and triangles, evoking the silhouette of a house. These stark shapes establish a sense of stability and structure. The use of negative space in both pieces accentuates their respective forms and highlights the precision of their execution. With its juxtaposition of symmetry and geometry, the artwork explores themes of balance and structure through abstraction. The restrained color palette enhances the clarity and impact, making each frame a contemplative exploration of form and symmetry.
Imprints/I am Yourself is a work of collection; a collection of images augmented by Casey Waterman to create a habitat where paralleled materials, connotations, and ambiguity comment on the evolution of our constructed social realities.
Casey Waterman's work encompasses a wide range of materials and mediums but is primarily based on creating cut images from photographs, drawings, or other forms of visual media. For Waterman, calling himself an artist is based on the importance of being honest about his intentions and staying true to his actions. Waterman's work can be found in private collections along the East Coast. As a continuous process of personal exploration, he continues to research and create in his studio in Miami.
