Description
This is a unique original assemblage composed of 64 authentic champagne corks, mounted in a precise square grid on a natural wooden board.
Hand-signed by Jan Henderikse in pencil on the reverse, visible through the plexiglass back.
The work is presented in a custom-crafted white wooden showcase and protected by high-quality Plexiglas® Optical HC.
A playful and refined three-dimensional composition that transforms everyday waste into minimalist elegance.
By arranging the corks in a strict grid, Henderikse imposes structure on objects tied to celebration, chance, and excess. Each cork bears its own branding, creating subtle visual variety within the uniformity of the form. This sculptural assemblage invites the viewer to reexamine consumer detritus through the lens of seriality, repetition, and conceptual abstraction.

Presentation
Jan Henderikse is an eclectic artist, involved in assemblages, installations and limited editions. The originality of his works can be found in his method: he uses whatever materials, like industrial products and discarded materials, and produces serial composition that depicts reality avoiding any personal handwriting or personal touch. Similar to the manufactory process within factories, his art emphasizes impersonality. This original sculpture, Nul, is a white neon tube sculpture. To realize this sculpture, Henderikse wrote on a sheet of paper several times the words "Nul" and "NUL", the translation of ZERO in Dutch. Through a glass blower and neon technician, he translated then his design in a high-impact sculpture.
