Description
This striking sculpture captivates with its futuristic and dynamic design composed of an array of reflective, cylindrical forms. Each polished metal cylinder is strategically arranged to create a cohesive yet complex structure, catching and reflecting light. The unique aspect of this artwork lies in the LED lights emanating from within the piece, adding depth and vibrancy. The combination of mirrored surfaces and luminous interior lighting generates an engaging contrast, drawing viewers in for a closer examination. The piece challenges perceptions of space and light, offering a multidimensional experience. Its intricate construction and innovative use of materials demonstrate a bold exploration of contemporary art forms.
Presentation
Artist Lee Song Joon (1982) has been recognized for his unique and fascinating sculptures that have pushed boundaries within his field. The artist's main focus is to express ambiguity between the boundaries of reality and the delivery of virtual images shown in physical space. In order to do that, he concentrates on creating something that visualizes the changes in pixels with stainless steel balls where the projection of 'indefinite continuity' is expressed through his work. The LED lights on the steel balls create reflection and refraction of light whereby elements within and around the sculpture pick up the surrounding environment creating a glittering effect through infinite reflections of light.
