Description
This captivating sculpture depicts a cat, sculpted with striking elegance, precariously balanced on a golden sphere. The cat, with its smooth black finish, evokes a sense of mystery and grace, contrasting beautifully with the metallic sheen of the sphere. Its posture, with its tail raised skyward, demonstrates perfect agility and balance, typical of feline nature. The sphere, mounted on a black cubic base, adds a dimension of stability and modernity to the work, while underscoring the theme of lightness. Every curve and line of this piece seems inspired by refined simplicity, drawing the eye and mind toward deep contemplation. This artwork subtly blends concepts of dynamism and serenity, inviting the viewer to reflect on harmony and balance in everyday life.
Presentation
Pierre Gimenez is an artist of Spanish origins born in 1950. He studied at the School of Fine Arts where he learned sculpture on wood, metal and stone. It was during this period that he met Jean Marais. The artist was impressed by the work of young Gimenez and encouraged him to continue working on this field.
Specialized in bronze sculpture, Pierre Gimenez does a great work on the curves and the round shapes. His pieces are refined, and the product of a real quest for aesthetic perfection. The women which he loves representing so much are voluptuous and sensual. The warm colors of the southern lands and the Iberian landscapes inspire his sculpturesof bulls as well. Just like his own personality, his work is passionate and generous.
Pierre Gimenez regularly exhibits his work in France and abroad. His creations are part of numerous private collections.
