Description
This boldly minimalist modern sculpture features a black U-shaped structure resting on an irregular blue base, evoking a liquid pool. The vibrant blue color contrasts sharply with the black, creating a fascinating visual dynamic. The base, with its fluctuating contours, simulates the movement of a viscous material spreading, creating an intriguing interplay between the static and the organic.
This fluid aspect is accentuated by the texture and nuances of the surface, offering a depth that defies apparent simplicity. The piece questions stability and transformation, capturing a moment between balance and uncertainty. The use of emptiness within the U-shaped structure encourages contemplation and personal interpretation, making this work an invitation to explore space and matter. The clean lines and bold palette give this work a captivating and resolutely contemporary presence.
Presentation
When metal becomes emotion…
Yannick Bouillault's studio is located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in western France. It is in the face of this vast expanse that he has forged a close connection with creation since a young age. Trained in boilermaking, he first worked as a technician before devoting himself fully to sculpture in 2016, driven by a spontaneous and visceral impulse.
Passionate about materials—mainly steel—and fueled by philosophy, Yannick Bouillault strives to reveal the hidden beauty of metal. With his technical mastery, he transforms this raw, cold material into a vehicle for emotion. Each work is born from a dialogue between reflection and feeling, between tension and calm.
Curious about phenomena and attentive to the energy of the world, he draws inspiration from both movement and absence, from the visible and the invisible. In his work, realism and surrealism intertwine to give birth to sculptures that are both powerful and sensitive. Playing with shapes and colors, he gives metal an unexpected lightness, sometimes even a poetic grace.
A self-taught sculptor, Yannick Bouillault has established himself as a unique voice in contemporary metal. His works, exhibited in France and abroad, now travel the world, driven by a universal emotion.
All of the artist's sculptures are designed and crafted entirely by him. Each piece comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
