Description
This intriguing sculpture depicts a stylized canine, a fusion of modern artistry and rustic charm. Crafted primarily from metal, its angular limbs and sleek body are accentuated by polished brass elements. The head is thoughtfully detailed, exuding both strength and elegance, while a segmented spine hints at mechanical intricacies within. Its stance is dynamic, poised as if in mid-stride, imbuing the piece with a sense of movement. The backdrop of eclectic wall art and a cushioned couch contrasts the sculpture's industrial essence, further amplifying its uniqueness. Set on a geometric-patterned rug, the artwork creates a striking balance of texture and form. This piece commands attention through its bold juxtaposition of materials and embodies a harmonious blend of art and engineering.
Presentation
Aparici's work is characterized by simplicity, as most of his pieces gather few elements, resulting in very elegant compositions with simple lines, which, combined with his creativity, give his pieces a great expressive power.
He transforms his drawings into three-dimensional beings, using the technique of assembly with old utensils as well as molds and disused objects made of wood and metal. Since then, he has produced over 350 pieces, representing all kinds of animals of different shapes and sizes, from life-size elephants to tiny insects.
Using the same technique, his sculptures also include musical instruments, rockets, masks and a collection of "secret books". Unusual figures that test our imagination and invite us to discover the elements that make up each piece, in a playful game of observation requiring the complicity of the spectator.
