Description
“Titan" is an assemblage sculpture portraying a dog, crafted exquisitely from various recycled materials. The body features a vintage, mechanical aesthetic, composed of a weathered brown metal frame with industrial components. Its elongated, graceful neck culminates in a head formed from repurposed metallic objects, exuding a sense of both mechanical precision and whimsical charm. Each leg, distinctively fashioned from mismatched, upcycled machine parts, gives the sculpture a dynamic posture, capturing the essence of movement.
The clever use of textures and materials emphasises Aparici's skill in transforming ordinary objects into a cohesive form that transcends its components. This artwork not only showcases the beauty in reuse but also evokes an emotional connection: it resonates with viewers through its intriguing blend of industrial design and organic form. The piece stands as a testament to creativity, sustainability, and innovation in modern art. A great conversation piece for your collection!
Presentation
Aparici's work is characterized by simplicity, as most of his pieces gather few elements, resulting in very elegant compositions with simple lines, which, combined with his creativity, give his pieces a great expressive power.
He transforms his drawings into three-dimensional beings, using the technique of assembly with old utensils as well as molds and disused objects made of wood and metal. Since then, he has produced over 350 pieces, representing all kinds of animals of different shapes and sizes, from life-size elephants to tiny insects.
Using the same technique, his sculptures also include musical instruments, rockets, masks and a collection of "secret books". Unusual figures that test our imagination and invite us to discover the elements that make up each piece, in a playful game of observation requiring the complicity of the spectator.
