Description
This sculpture, elegantly placed on a wooden base, captures the essence of movement with remarkable fluidity. With its bronze patina, it presents a dynamic abstraction evoking an animal in full stride. The harmonious curves and smooth texture of the metal lend the work a sense of lightness, contrasted by its robust material. The slender, elegant tail seems to extend the movement, suggesting speed and agility. The artist has masterfully balanced simplicity and sophistication, creating a piece that draws the eye with its clean lines and form. This work embodies a fusion of nature and abstraction, reflecting the technical mastery and artistic vision of its creator. With its timeless allure, this sculpture inspires contemplation and admiration.
Presentation
Born in 1970, Gaël Rouxeville is the artist of the Living Curve. His work, disseminated in France and internationally, has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, publications, and has been included in private and public collections (notably that of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia).
Drawing on expertise in industrial design and cabinetmaking, and committed to an eco-responsible approach, his creative process engages memory, the unconscious, and the imagination. For 30 years, he has explored the possibilities of the "Living Curve," a source of inspiration, an expressive language, and the guiding thread of his work. The numerous media, materials, and themes he explores are never an end in themselves, but rather a means of approaching and experiencing a universal consciousness.
His work results in a world of organic, “living" forms, figurative or not; forms that are simple in appearance and open to interpretation, engaging the viewer's memories and imagination. Gaël Rouxeville's art is less intellectual than sensual. It's an invitation to let go, to welcome, to stop searching... Like these curves that stretch and relax, it suddenly seems that time is elongating. The boundaries that appeared so clear become blurred, shifting... The mind then floats, as if levitating; a dance of space and time!
