Description
A presence both familiar and unsettling emerges from this sculpture, like a childhood memory immersed in a bath of dazzling modernity. The recognizable silhouette of an aristocratic duck—top hat firmly in place, beak slightly stretched into a mischievous grin—seems frozen in a posture of self-assurance, almost haughtiness. With its arms crossed, it embodies a kind of quiet power, an assumed, almost theatrical, wealth.
But here, everything shifts into the realm of matter. The figure is engulfed in a mirrored fuchsia, a chromed surface that captures, distorts, and replays the light. Every curve becomes liquid, every detail seems to melt in a metallic flow, as if the figure itself were dissolving into the luxury it symbolizes. The gaze disappears into the reflections, rendering the expression elusive—somewhere between irony, distance, and fascination.
This work plays on the codes of pop and kitsch, pushing them to the extreme. It transforms a popular icon into a precious, almost sacred object, where humor blends with a more subtle reflection on value, appearance, and illusion. The vibrant and provocative fuchsia acts as a signal: it's impossible to look away.

Vincenzo De Cillis, born in Salento, Italy in 1984, has lived and worked in Parma for over twenty years. Following a legal education, he made a decisive career shift in 2020 to devote himself entirely to artistic creation, developing a singular universe where technical rigor and Pop aesthetics engage in a powerful dialogue.
His work is characterized by a meticulous mastery of materials and a constant pursuit of formal perfection. Hand-painted artworks and marble-resin sculptures form a rich body of work, elevated by the use of precious materials such as 22-carat gold leaf, Swarovski crystals, and exacting artisanal finishes.
At the crossroads of two heritages—the creative drive of an artist and design-dealer father, and the precision of a technical drawing teacher mother—Vincenzo has forged an immediately recognizable visual signature. His work inhabits a luxury aesthetic that he subverts with subtlety and irony, questioning contemporary codes of desire, possession, and image. Between art, design, and object, his creations transcend traditional boundaries to become true contemporary icons: seductive and brilliant, yet always underpinned by critical reflection. For De Cillis, beauty is a language—simultaneously dazzling and conscious.
