Description
ARTEFACT M01 is a work presented by the artist during a performance, shown at the Êtres ici exhibition in July 2025 in the Orangerie of the Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon. This piece is part of the body-sculpture research begun in 2025 by Manon Oller.
An ovoid nucleus, around which the form unfolds in extensions.
Lines that evoke a grip, a port, a gesture — like a jar or a water object, designed to accompany the body.
Sculpture is not just volume: it is latent use.
A possible artifact, to be activated, to be inhabited.
It is part of an archaeology of the future —
like a vestige yet to come, bearing a forgotten function or one yet to be invented.
Between container and extension, the form remains open.
It engages the body, calls for movement.
Presentation
She develops a sculptural practice centered on the notion of inhabited landscape.
His works — shells, shelters, fragments — lie at the boundary between the living and architecture.
They unfold silent forms, where time seems suspended.
Based in Lyon, Manon Oller is a multidisciplinary artist whose work primarily unfolds through sculpture, in dialogue with photography and performance. A graduate of the European Institute of Ceramic Arts (IEAC), she also studied art history and archaeology at the University of Strasbourg, which inform her research on traces and temporalities.
The earth, his primary medium, is a living material, charged with memory.
His works appear as fragments of a world in transformation — between past and becoming.
