This captivating artwork unfolds a bold sculptural composition where organic forms and vibrant patterns meet in a striking dialogue between nature and the contemporary world. The structures, evoking corals, rock formations, and compacted masses, are distinguished by their sinuous and dynamic lines, as if shaped by ocean currents or the tensions of an urban landscape. Dominated by shades of blue and green, the color palette establishes a soothing visual harmony, while the textured grooves and subtle interplay of light and shadow accentuate the depth and complexity of the whole.
Inspired by a trip to Stavanger, Norway, in the summer of 2023, the work stems from a profound emotional shock: the disfigurement of the old port by a decade of tourism development, sold off to cruise ships, on a scale completely devoid of human connection. The loss of light and perspective, of the unique character of these historic places.
ACF: "In a need for liberation, I set about deconstructing this false image of dream tourism in order to symbolically abandon it at the bottom of the water and finally rediscover a feeling of tranquility and reverie."
The work thus imposes its originality through the subtle balance it creates between contemporary denunciation and natural inspiration, inviting the viewer to meditate on the fragility of territories, the memory of places and the need to preserve a harmony between human activity and the living world.
“Maritime Spleen - process", sculpture stage before final exploded version of the work (in 60 cm).
Molded from the mass, engobed earthenware, spot enamel.

Trained as an architect, graphic designer, iconographer, and illustrator, I now devote myself to ceramic sculpture*.
Inspired by human and artistic encounters, and by travel, I continue the tradition of sculpting. Portraits, characters, scenes, and chronicles inhabit my world.
In search of a unique, personal, meaningful and sensitive narrative, I observe man in his relationship to the world, to his environment under influences, to Art, in order to offer a contemporary polychrome, poetic, sometimes enigmatic vision.
The earth is the providential tactile territory that allows me to produce from little to move towards the essential: to find a freedom of representation and emotions, a language of volume and light, of meaning and signs, of narratives and imaginaries.
However, ceramic sculpture is a demanding craft. I seek a symbiotic relationship with the material in the creation of the form, right up to its transformation by fire. The delicate process of applying color and glaze fosters the same connection, throughout the firings until the nuances are revealed.
I am currently working with a type of earthenware clay which allows me to fire my pieces at low temperatures, thus preserving all the freshness and brightness of the color in a contemporary matte finish.
My workshop is located in Reims, in Champagne.
Born in a land of chalk and cathedrals, I discovered clay at almost forty; I then began entering sculpture competitions and pursuing further training. Ten years later, I launched my professional career. In 2022, I had the honor of having a booth at the "Révélations" exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. In 2023, the Perrotin Gallery purchased a portrait of Sophie Calle from me. A multiple recipient of the Luxembourg Art Prize, I am also a member of Ateliers d'Art de France.
