Description
This bronze sculpture by Benoit Fleury depicts a flamingo whose slender silhouette unfolds in a continuous movement that evokes the bird's lightness and verticality. The polished surface reveals warm hues that interact with a darker, textured area, creating a subtle contrast that enriches the interpretation of the form. Here, the artist develops a contemporary interpretation where the fluidity of the volume enhances the piece's elegance and gives it a strong decorative presence. Through its balance, verticality, and the smoothness of its transitions, the work integrates easily into a refined interior and adds a touch of grace that naturally draws the eye.
Presentation
A sculpture that has its roots in nature ...
Introduced to the artistic work of wood by his cabinetmaker-sculptor father, Benoit Fleury, Franco-Swiss sculptor, gleans roots and woods bruised by fires, the elements and weathered by time. He then gives them a second life ...
He works these woods of Mediterranean species in direct carving, letting himself be guided by the shapes and veins to transform them into sculptures with very clean lines, on the theme of nature.
Benoit likes to play with the contrast between the complexity of natural elements and the purity of sculpted forms, a contrast that can be found on his latest bronzes juxtaposing "mirror polish" and black patina.
