Description
Sculpture buried in clay, fiber, metal, wood, enameled plaque.
Sylvie Honnart has always been fascinated by faces. What they reveal, what they conceal.
Her sculptures present human figures that are both strong and fragile. Bearing silent narratives, neither joyful nor sad, they look at us, tell us their story, awaken a memory, an emotion, even a question.
Sylvie Honnart's work is rooted in a committed, profoundly human approach. Inspired by artists such as Ousmane Sow and Alberto Giacometti, she has found in sculpture a way to reveal the essential: the dignity, resilience, and complexity of certain lives—lives that are rarely seen, such as those of coal miners or slaves.
