Description
This sculpture transforms an everyday object into an exceptional piece. The artist uses their skill as a self-taught sculptor to sublimate neglected materials. The metal fades behind meticulous texture work. The rendering precisely imitates the grain of aged leather.
The compact shape of a suitcase evokes travel and memories. Two metal loops and a handle structure the composition. A discreet monogram signs the front face. The play of ochre and brown tones brings an organic depth to the whole.
The technical approach is based on recovery and transformation. Every detail is thought out to deceive the eye and question the nature of the material. This creation is part of a contemporary approach where waste becomes precious. The object presents itself as a mysterious box, frozen in an unalterable material. The sculpture is distinguished by its matte finish and golden reflections on the fittings.

From the age of 14, with a welding machine and old rusty parts, Vincent Duchêne gives free rein to his imagination.
Self-taught sculptor who collects what you no longer pay attention to, he brings pieces of metal back to life that become unique works of art. You will then take another look at these pieces, which will have a second, much more noble life.
