Description
The energy of pop art is embodied here in a bold sculpture. The iconic silhouette of a famous mouse is transformed under the influence of street art. The character wears a gas mask, a symbol of urban and rebellious culture. In its hand, a spray can suggests the immediate creative act.
The chromatic work attracts the eye. A gradient of intense red slips into dark and deep shades. The glossy finish highlights the rounded volumes of the resin. An insolent detail punctuates the whole with the addition of a luxury logo on one of the ears.
The artist plays with the codes of consumption and provocation. This piece combines the rigor of wood and the modernity of plexiglass. The use of epoxy paint guarantees a durable and precise shine. The sculpture rests on a transparent base which accentuates the floating effect.
The whole merges the spirit of the 80s and contemporary aesthetics. The work presents itself as a dialogue between the impudence of graffiti and plastic sophistication. The contrast between the childlike subject and the protective equipment creates a striking visual tension. The piece was made in 2026.
Presentation
Fred Morgan, a French artist born in 1973 in Gap in the Hautes-Alpes region, creates a vibrant and intensely colorful pop universe where sculpture, painting, and digital graphic design intertwine. A rebel with a tender heart, he draws his inspiration from the rock and pop energy of the 80s, as well as the lively culture of DJs. His work subverts conventions, plays with insolence, and asserts total creative freedom. His most emblematic works, often inspired by the provocative "FUCK" motif, humorously and brilliantly question the role of expression and attitude in contemporary art.
An instinctive and resolutely modern artist, Fred Morgan imposes an immediately recognizable style, between assumed impertinence and chromatic joy.
