Description
Among the Letuama community, indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest, the shaman is responsible for the link between the master of the animals and the community. To kill a tapir, for example, he must have the permission of the tapir master. During his journey to meet him, under the influence of a hallucinogen, he will encounter a female tapir who will take the form of a highly sensual creature, drawing him in for a pleasure that will make him lose his mind and forget the purpose of his journey. In this painting, the shaman takes the form of a fish and the tapir that of a danta.
