This original oil pastel drawing presents a minimalist summer still life infused with warmth, color, and calm. A thoughtfully arranged table sets the scene—watermelon slices and popcorn evoke relaxed summer moments, while the black-and-white checkered background anchors the composition with graphic balance.

Inspired by the bold simplicity of Matisse-style cutouts, the tabletop is decorated with vivid shapes and strong black outlines, giving the artwork a playful yet refined modern aesthetic. On one side rests an open book titled “Happiness Indicated", suggesting mindfulness and quiet reflection. Nearby, two large planters filled with blooming flowers add organic softness, while a mobile phone with a blue screen subtly introduces contemporary life into the scene.

This modern still life artwork blends minimalism, color, and everyday symbolism, making it ideal for collectors who appreciate contemporary drawing, interior art, and expressive simplicity. Perfect for kitchens, studios, reading spaces, or modern living rooms, this piece adds personality without overwhelming the space.
