Biography

Vikka is a painter born in France in 1982. He has always been fond of art and especially of all movements from the Street scene Art and Pop Art. Artists such as Ron English or Buff Monster are for him masters in the subject.

From the earliest days, his interest in drawing is revealed during his moments of relaxation. He easily reproduces characters of the cartoons he watches, and his wild imagination makes him create so many others.

At 15, artists like Picasso inspire him. The birth of his first son brings him back to his childhood, the cartoons he watches stimulate his imagination. Creativity combined with a dose of reflection and maturity gives him the desire to create his own works. Thus begins his artistic project. Self-taught, he is fond of color and the surreal elements which can be found in his work.

His canvas "The Beginning" is the starting point for everything. This painting includes all the basic elements of all of his works:

• The bubbles represent round shapes, soothing and liberating, reminding the lightness peculiar to the childhood.

• The colors of the rainbow, the last one imagined with an additional color, the rose being invited to the party.

• His characters, the bomb and the slug, both appeared in a boom! A click allowing him the total completion of his artistic work.

Through his works, Vikka wishes to arouse interest and raise awareness among others. He enjoys versatility in his work and thus declines his characters between paintings, sculptures and photographs. His works are a mishmash of news topics, ingredients straight from of his imagination, and tributes to the figures and great artists who inspired him.

According to Vikka, "Art has no limit. It is synonymous with freedom, a way of expressing oneself and revealing the child who is in us ". For him the mixture of materials is the key word in order to create harmony in his works.

His artist name Vikka, is a contraction of the first names of his sons, as a tribute of them. They are a fundamental help in the development of his works. A part of childhood that he wishes to transmit to a wide audience.

His first exhibitions are a tribute to his grandfathers, who themselves have an undeniable talent in the field of painting. The latter claiming that artistic descent was assured.

So Vikka is born.
