Description
"Captive Metamorphosis"
This magnetic work invites you into a world where contemporary elegance meets the delicacy of nature, while letting a touch of artistic audacity shine through. The face of a woman, as captivating as it is mysterious, is the heart of this composition. Her gaze, soft but penetrating, seems to pierce the soul of the viewer, drawing them into a universe that is both intimate and universal.
The cap she wears, splashed with colorful paint, symbolizes creative energy and modernity. The bursts of color blend into the whole, reminding us that even in apparent control, art and self-expression always find their way. The cap itself, a contemporary fashion element, here becomes a canvas for expression, adding a dimension of urban and chic style to the work.
But what really captivates the eye are the butterflies that delicately float around the figure. These light, meticulously detailed creatures symbolize transformation, freedom and ephemerality. They seem almost alive, as if they would fly away at any moment, symbolizing the transience of beauty and the momentum of metamorphosis. Their presence recalls the fragile nature of existence, where beauty, however ephemeral, remains immortalized in art.
The "Louis Vuitton" ribbon, subtly draped in the composition, adds a touch of luxury and sophistication to the whole. This element recalls the incessant quest for aesthetics and refinement in a constantly changing world. The association of haute couture fashion with the wild nature of butterflies creates a fascinating visual tension: a dance between the eternal and the transient, between modern prestige and timeless fragility.
The textured black background, studded with touches of gold, amplifies the light and brings out every detail with vibrant intensity. This dark frame gives the work a dramatic depth, bringing out the luminosity of the gaze, butterflies and luxurious elements, like stars in a mysterious night.
Title: “Captive Metamorphosis"
This title evokes the duality of the work: the silent transformation, captured in a frozen moment, between inner strength and evanescent beauty. For a collector, this work is much more than a simple painting; it is a journey between luxury and nature, between fashion and the essence of life. A piece that challenges, holds attention and reminds us that art is the perfect fusion between what is seen and what is felt.
Presentation
Born in 1970, French artist David Cintract lives and works in Paris since 1988.
A painter, visual artist, sculptor and photographer at the same time, he created the "Free Pop" movement, which is more a state of mind than an artistic movement in the classic sense of the word. A child of Pop art, his works are a combination of Warhol's and Lichtenstein's work, David Cintract draws his inspiration from the news, movies or comics to make a better use of color. A big lover of knowledge, he encourages us to meditate about and criticize our lifestyles, with his pieces of an out of place and childish artistic world.
Gaiety of colors and patterns, vivacity and communicative joy, but also deep questions and symbols, such is the trademark of David Cintract, who refuses ease and creates discrete connections between very poetic forces and dark impulses. Using techniques as diverse as oil painting, photography, inclusion or digigraphie, he works on all sorts of supports (paintings, models, cars etc) several of his subjects are related to our postmodern society like how man faces uncontrolled and frivolous consumption, fantasies and adult erotic games as well as the loss of childhood in a society that does not believe in dreams anymore.
David Cintract exhibits his work around the world and thanks to his universal artistic language, he creates deep exchanges with aundiences from all kinds of backgrounds and cultures.
