Description
Acrylic on plaster hardened with epoxy resin.
American black wood case.
Inlaid gold metal.
This captivating work fuses contemporary street art with powerful, poetic imagery. At its center, a striking portrait of a woman is rendered in black and white, her hair spreading like wings, symbolizing freedom and boldness. The background features a dynamic mix of blue, white, and red, evoking connotations of patriotism and rebellion. Textures and typography add visual depth, accentuating the contrast between chaos and serenity. The partially visible words, scattered across the background, intrigue and invite interpretation. The artist masters the balance between light and shadow, capturing both softness and strength. Every detail, from the tattoo to the confident expression, contributes to a rich and captivating visual narrative, celebrating individuality and resilience. This bold work brilliantly illustrates the tension between personal struggle and the quest for freedom.
Presentation
Self-taught, Maxime Andriot painted from a young age. He began to paint landscapes of his region first and had his first exhibition at the age of 16. Subsequently, he will experiment with different techniques, oil, acrylic, pastel, aerosol and different media. He has many inspirational subjects such as portraiture and cityscape, but his favorite subject remains the cartoons of his childhood to which he likes to give bright and electric colors.
