The reflections, the waves of the water or the nature reflected in them seem so calm and peaceful. The great lakes of Canada, Lake Maggiore or Lake Titicaca each have a particular beauty that seduces the painter. The water of the lake is alternately painted in blue, green, turquoise, even pink. More than a landscape, a lake is a mysterious passage into a forest and enigmatic sea bed.

What is a famous lake painting?
One famous series of lake paintings is Impressionist artist Claude Monet's Nymphéas (Water Lilies), which are housed in the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris. Monet produced the series of large-scale paintings specifically to be displayed in a rounded room in this museum.
