Abstrakte 4-Elemente-Künstler
Gelb-, Braun-, Rot- und Blautöne dominieren in der Regel die Farbpaletten der Künstler, die mit Erdtönen arbeiten. Als sich die abstrakte Kunst vom Realismus entfernte, entstand zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts eine Kunstrichtung, die sich auf die Verwendung von Farbe und Form zur Darstellung des Sujets in der modernen Kunst konzentrierte. Den Ausdruck vermittelt der Künstler, indem er seinen Emotionen preisgibt oder die Entschlossenheit, einen Moment festzuhalten, darstellt. Bei genauer Betrachtung der Ocker- und Brauntöne, die für die Erdtöne stehen, erkennt der Betrachter Anklänge von Rot, Blau und Gelb. Die Grundfarben werden von abstrakten Künstlern wie Mondrian verwendet, um das Zweidimensionale darzustellen und die Einfachheit der Farben und Formen zu betonen. Wenn man sie jedoch mischt, findet man braune Farbtöne (die an Trübheit grenzen können) in den Werken von Francoise Dugourd-Caput und Barry Rafuse. Rafuse stellt sogar fest, dass er oft primäre und leuchtende Farbenverwendet, weil er sich von den Mustern und Landformen der Natur angezogen fühlt. Und während er sich zur Abstraktion dieser Elemente hin bewegt, verschmelzen sie in seinen Werken und nutzen die Kraft der Zweidimensionalität, um die Welt um uns herum kraftvoll darzustellen.
