Presentation

Tadeusz Michaluk is a French artist born in Lwow, Poland on 13th May in 1958. He studied for five years at the Fine Arts school of Warsaw and graduated in 1965.

He works with industrial graphics and has created several illustrations of books, posters and even stamp models, most of which were published by the Polish post office. Discovered by a great Parisian merchant in 1977 during a solo exhibition in Stockholm, his work celebrates European fantasy and hyper-realism, he came to France many times but came back again in 1985 and finally took the decision to move there and get settled.

A painter with bountiful imagination, he tackles humor brilliantly and plays around with colors. His paintings mix acrobats, baroque theaters, burlesque characters and strange architectures, in a universe which is derived from his imagination. His dreamlike compositions are part of poetic realism, where the aesthetic aspect looks Flemish. The light in his paintings are intense, sometimes tragic, evoking mystery and emotion.

His work is part of several public and private collections.
