Michel Aubert

Born in: 1930

Michel Aubert is a painter born in Paris in 1930.

Michel Aubert is a self-taught artist, he did not follow any kind of formation. In 1948 he met the painter Gen Paul, a friend of Céline, Marcel Ayme and Jean Paulhan, who became his advisor during a certain time. From 1950 to 1961, the year of his first exhibition, he worked alone.

His works, highly expressionist, made him part of a small group of artists (Bacon, Rebeyrolle Pouget etc) who dared to express the world's violence and the intensity of human feelings, in the 60s.
