Photographie Nature
Dans la nature, les sources d'inspiration sont omniprésentes pour les artistes, et notamment pour les photographes : les grands espaces, la savane, les bois, les prairies ou même le fond d'un jardin sont autant de sujets potentiels. Photographes professionnels et amateurs s'appliquent à immortaliser la faune et la flore de leur milieu naturel.
La prise de vue de la photographie nature est devenue aujourd'hui un art à part entière très populaire. Réalisant des prises de vues aériennes ou sous-marines, voir des macrophotographies, cette pratique artistique fait voyager, et voguer l'esprit à travers des couleurs incroyables, des compositions pointues et des lumières exceptionnelles.
Ansel Adams est un des premiers à dicter les règles des photographies de paysage. Au 20ème siècle, il invente avec Fred Archer le « zone system », technique permettant de mieux contrôler et prévoir le rendu final de la photographie nature au niveau du contraste et de l'exposition. Écologiste de la première heure, Adams emploie la profondeur de champs pour nous mettre face à la réalité de la fragilité de la faune sauvage qui mérite d'être préservée.
Même si le portrait domine à l'invention de la photographie, l'intérêt pour la photographie de paysage augmente avec l'ouverture au monde. D'abord très standardisée et capturant avant tout une ambiance, la photographie de paysage s'inspire de l'impressionnisme. Après la Première Guerre mondiale, avec l'amélioration des procédés, la photographie nature devient plus réaliste et artistique, au gré des photographes à l'œuvre. Certains privilégient la netteté, d'autres le flou; le cadrage faisant la différence.
La photographie nature s'est rapidement répandue à l'apparition des appareils photo numériques, permettant toujours d'obtenir plus de discrétion et de détails : un coucher de soleil, l'épaisseur de la brume, le pelage d'un animal, les gouttes de rosée sur une fleur… On comprend bien pourquoi certains artistes ont consacré leur vie à immortaliser la magie de la nature, fascinante et intrigante, et n'ont eu de cesse d'améliorer leurs techniques.
La discipline nécessite avant tout une grande patience pour capturer l'instant idéal et la lumière attendue. Mais il faut être réactif pour saisir le cliché, car la durée d'un instant parfait est limitée : la nature n'attend pas ! Une bonne technique et une grande connaissance des procédés sont importantes pour obtenir le rendu désiré. Certains photographes prennent parfois des photos pendant plusieurs heures pour aboutir à un résultat satisfaisant.
Parmi la photographie nature et de paysage les plus connus, on retrouve Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Paul Nicklen ou encore Franco Fontana, qui ont chacun développé une patte les distinguant immédiatement les uns des autres.
La nature est un terrain de jeu idéal pour explorer son style pictural. D'ailleurs, nombreux sont les artistes qui se sont prêtés au jeu et qui ont parcouru le monde entier à la recherche de clichés d'exception.
