Nigerian contemporary painter, Abe Ogunlende is an artist who creates a simplified visual language of polka dots, dark skinned portraits and acrylic pastel colors to convey the ideas around him. Often introspective in his paintings, Abe carefully orchestrates composition, minimalism and color to better understand himself allowing his work to convey a relevant story for the viewer. Inspired by culturally mixed images, simple compositions, personal experiences and emotions, Abe uses accessible forms to express his views and explore the differences between individual identities, societies and the relationships between them.
