After a childhood in a modest background, he studied philosophy, including Jean Grenier, then attended the workshop Germaine Richier in the post-World War II. Based in Paris since the late 1950s, Ladislas Kijno has, over the decades, multiplied sprays paint and has become one of the masters of the so-called crumpling technique. His meeting with Louis Aragon and Ponge in 1943 has also led to many work in collaboration with poets.
Countless tributes inhabit his creations: Nicolas de Stael, Nelson Mandela, then Gagarin Galilee; but the fighting alongside the Algerian and Vietnamese peoples, but also Tahiti, China, Easter Island. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 1980. In the 1990s, he worked in the rose of the portal of Notre-Dame de la Treille Lille, completed 9 years later.
The painter-artist Ladislas Kijno, 91, of Polish origin and installed in France for 20 years, died in 2012. Considered one of the major artists of the twentieth century and one of the masters of abstraction , specialist technical and creasing of vaporization on canvas, Ladislas Kijno was near Louis Aragon, a meeting which influenced his work often in close relation with poetry.
