Biography
Jacques Grison was born in Verdun in 1958. He has lived and worked in Paris since 1981. After scientific studies, his first experience as an educator specializing in a psychiatric hospital developed his sense of otherness and his sensitivity to "the barely perceptible" And non-verbal communication. He began to practice diagnostic photography used in medical research, with great scientists, in particular Professor Georges Mathé who encouraged him to create, in 1985, the Goivaux health photography agency. Seven years later, becoming a photographer member of the Rapho agency, he opened a department dedicated to social reporting. He then increased his work in the suburbs such as La Forestière in Clichy-sous-Bois, the world of work, in particular The last lords of coal in Lorraine, or disability with La vie despite everything. He wants to show that another world exists, more discreet, more fragile, sometimes worrying for those who keep it at a distance. At the same time and since 1997, he returns to his native land and pursues 20 years of work which extends his reflection on the construction of perception and extends it to the relations between landscape and memory. Since 2016, he has turned to other photographic and plastic approaches, including Galerie Lazarew presenting “After the rain…” in spring 2019.
