Alain Olivieri

Alain Olivieri was born in 1962 in Saint Symphorien d'Ozon, commune of the Rhône.

He spent his childhood in Marseille and at the age of 18 he came to live in Corsica.

Alain Olivieri began his professional career as a cook, a creative profession.

In 1997, he joined the Médico-social where he worked as a technical educator, specializing in cooking for adults with disabilities. An environment, where it is very important to awaken the imagination, the anticipation, the interpretation, the sensitivity. The kitchen is transformed into a real creativity workshop.

For personal reasons, he left the world of disability.

Today, Alain Olivieri is a professional painter and sculptor, self-taught.

Regarding his artistic approach, it all started in 2000. At that time, he needed to experience new sensations, to leave the world of cooking and to practice other creations.

His early works were guided by figurative art. It was a learning time. Throughout this period, he practiced copying canvases, learning to mix colors and perspectives. Over the years, the artist began to paint his own works.

Since 2010, Alain has been attracted to the material and he has turned to abstract art. Influenced by Picasso, Dali, Soulages, he likes to play with colors, materials, textures, shapes, the goal being to transcribe his feelings, his emotions and to transmit messages.

When an idea or a thought crosses his mind, all he has to do is put into action to bring this vision to life.

In 2020, the Coronavirus and containment are arriving. He feels the need to reinvent himself. he chooses sculpture, a desire, a lifelong desire, it becomes a revelation.

Not having a baking oven, he opted for clay without baking. This new passion allows him to escape, to calm down and to return to his bubble.

His work as a sculptor is influenced by artists such as Marc Petit, Gabriel Diana, Giacometti, Pablo Picasso.

All his sculptures are unique pieces, placed on Corsican rock. In order to keep a part of mystery and dream, his works have no face, the bodies are shapeless and wavy. His work is also influenced by real events, to which is mixed a part of the dream. It is up to everyone to make it their own.

His sculptures translate and amplify the feelings that carry him and that he wants to transmit.
