Après des années d'études supérieures en histoire latino-américaine, il a complété le programme de photographie documentaire à l'International Center of Photography (ICP) à New York. Son travail personnel explore la relation entre les personnes et leur environnement, les récits de conflits sociaux et les interconnexions denses du paysage colombien. Parfois, il préfère faire des portraits d'arbres. Son travail a été exposé à New York, Berlin, Mexico et Bogotá, et publié dans différents médias, dont le New York Times et The New Republic.
