Biografie
Patrick Villas wurde 1961 geboren und arbeitet und lebt in Antwerpen. Er stellt sein Talent als Bildhauer in den Dienst seiner Leidenschaft und repräsentiert die Welt der Tiere in all ihren Formen, mit einer besonderen Anziehungskraft für Katzen. Um zu verstehen, wie sich eine Katze bewegt und in welcher Position sie sie reparieren möchte, verbringt er lange Zeit in Zoos.
Dem Bildhauer entgeht kein Detail, die Haltung ist noch lebendig, die Eleganz und der Adel des Tieres zu unserem größten Vergnügen bewundernswert wiedergegeben. Seine beige oder braunen Skulpturen scheinen Tonskulpturen zu sein - aber sie sind tatsächlich aus Bronze gefertigt. Villas rückt die Natürlichkeit des Themas ins Rampenlicht, indem das Medium roh und strukturiert bearbeitet wird.
