The Black Magic Art Gallery was founded in 2019 to promote and support numerous extraordinary African artists in Germany, Europe and worldwide. We are not a gallery in the usual sense, but show the works of our artists mainly at fairs or online.
If artists in the western world already find it difficult to make a living from their art, this is doubly true for African artists. Many of them live in precarious circumstances, but some have already been able to attract international attention and have achieved modest prosperity.
The quality of the works of art is sometimes extraordinary. Who would have thought that one of the world's best colour woodblock printers - James "Silver" Kimani - comes from Nairobi and works at the Kuona Art Centre? The scene is full of extraordinary talents and established artists.
Join us in discovering these artists and their artworks, whose fascination often consists of a mix of old African tradition combined with Western influences.
