Presentation
A light, an atmosphere, a singular grain. Jean-François Mollière makes us discover his intimate perception of megalopolises and his fantasized realities of desert landscapes. A poetic elsewhere, often mysterious, undoubtedly the beginning of cinematographic narrations. The series shown at the Gaïa gallery revolves around two themes that seem to oppose each other. The first, structured and embodied in the great cities of the American East, plunges us into timeless vapors and fluctuations. The second, desert, hot and mineral of Namibia, radically deviates from the classic representations of these vast landscapes. Some contrasts that gently interfere in us and stimulate dreamlike. Independent author & photojournalist, Jean-François Molliere has collaborated on numerous books and magazines in the fields of art, sport and architecture. First Ilford Prize for Black and White Photography of the year 1998. Ilford Prize 1996 and 2000. Prize for urban photography from the MEP 2021 (European House of Photography) and Fisheye magazine.
