Presentation

Siriki Ky is a Burkinabe sculptor.

Since 1985, he is present on the international scene, in Italy, Germany, Belgium, France and Canada but also in Ivory Coast, Mali and Senegal, where he participates in many sculpture symposiums. He was the initiator, in 1988, of the International Symposium of Sculpture on Granite of Laongo in Burkina Faso.

From the granite of Burkina Faso to the snow in Europe, through stone, wood, bronze, iron, Ky Siriki interprets the world, touching at the same time on the revealed and hidden highlights of existence: the real and the unreal, tradition and modernity, the sacred and the profane, Me and Others.

Part of the first generation of Burkinabe visual artists who received academic training, Ky Siriki, a student at the Beaux-Arts d'Abidjan, perfected his skills in Pietrasanta, Italy, before settling in Burkina Faso, where he made a name for himself by winning the Prix de la Fondation Afrique en Créations (1996) for his project "Sculpture sur Granit de Laongo," a veritable open-air museum.
