Biography

John Jairo Mejia Ramirez is a painter born in Colombia in 1976. He was drawn to drawing from an early age. John Jairo arrived in France in 1998 to learn painting techniques. He is influenced by the expressionist movement and painters like Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele. He always maintains his own style with a spontaneous touch of the brush.

He treated the subjects which were close to his heart with a series of paintings forming an album such as “Les Otages” which he developed during the year 2008 and which was the theme of the exhibition at the Colombian consulate in Paris in November. 2008. “Les Hostages” wanted to express all the violence inflicted on the victims of kidnappings all over the world and in particular in Colombia. The proposed theme for the October 2009 presentation was “Vientos y Fronteras” at the Porte de Versailles Salon.
