Yubah Sanogo

Born in 1984, Yubah Sanogo lives and works in Côte d'Ivoire. After graduating from Centre des Arts Appliquées de Bingerville, the artist studied under Jacques Stenka and Virginia Ryan. Yubah Sanogo draws his inspiration from the observation of the stars, nature and his direct environment. Meticulously, he paints dot by dot, scenes from everyday life, evokes constellations seen from the earth or maps seen from above.

For the artist, each dot represents an individual. The shapes that emerge reflect his vision of the world: a multitude of unique and autonomous elements that still act and interact with one another to form a stronger, bigger whole. Sometimes abstract, sometimes figurative, his paintings seduce as well by their aesthetics as by the different levels of reading that they contain. Through his work, Yubah Sanogo advocates for harmony, closeness, and culture of encounter.
