Biography
My interest is drawing, and mainly line as the founding cell of drawing. Rather than on an expected result, I focus on the creative movement that precedes it. Performance is therefore an integral part of my artistic practice. “Between high and low/balancing our tides" is the working title of this ongoing project where my intention is to imprint the liveliness of the process in the works. Here, the calligraphic designs are created in cooperation with the sea. For me it is almost an alchemical mixture where the material meets an external environment rich in elements and my interiority, at a given moment. Everything can end badly. One can dominate the other. The line can be carried away by the wave, I can fight with the paper in the wind... Every day I try to find a new way to capture the lines according to new conditions. I am looking for how to deal with reality, in the manner of Japanese calligraphers expressing themselves through predetermined lines...
