Biography
RIV is a Parisian painter, performer and author. I
First coming from the theatre, it now expresses itself mainly through visual plastic means, but also through writing.
RIV deals with the relationship to the body, gender and sex from a deeply intimate point of view.
His subjects are no more than an observation, they are also a testimony to the coexistence between the senses and the intimate.
It is inspired by the work of Jenny Holzer, playing on the message as an artistic work, making a satire of mass marketing.
Not simply using paint, Riv surprises us with ever more singular techniques, such as the addition of cinnamon in the paint to develop the sense of smell in the viewer, photography, or even the gold leaf that adds another sensory dimension. Riv's solid color technique is impressive for its accuracy, the softness of the colors coexist to give birth to almost living works. This long work of researching nuances has earned him canvases that complement each other, and which are linked to each other, like an infinite serenade.
