Jérôme Dupré la Tour (Lyon, France - Born in Buenos Aires, 1982)

Jérôme is a graduate of Emile Cohl (2005) and HEAR (2006).

For him, the use of cyanotype is an opportunity to bring together the art of objects, photography and painting, while remaining in a poetic gesture, like a performance, a visual haiku.

Today, he deploys a "contemplation in action". His work is situated in the contemporary field of plastic and visual practices addressing the themes of the human imprint and trace: he works on packaging, the reverse side of things, counter-forms, questions containers, demystifies contents, to reveal an anatomy of our time, another face of our ordinary consumer habits in the Anthropocene era.

He questions notions of identity alienation and the permanence of memory, notably through our production of matrix grids that we find hard to get rid of, because they have become part of ourselves. These are design issues, conceptual and formal definitions, plastic and symbolic revelations of the modern contemporary body, posed as concrete socio-political issues to be traversed.

Jérôme Dupré la Tour is bi-national, French and Argentinean, lives in Lyon, works at the Friche Lamartine and teaches art in various contexts.
