Biography

Pierre Letellier born on August 23, 1928, a true Norman from Caen where he attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1942, Pierre Letellier has always represented evocative beauty in his work. An internationally renowned painter, he was an obvious specialist in the representation of nature, wildlife, hunting, while bringing together admirable characters, such as his supple ballerinas and his bold and sensual little nudes. But, of course, Pierre Letellier knew how to design with his particular mastery, a whole seductive saga of forests, ponds, autumnal or winter spaces within which he knew how to brilliantly capture beautiful anecdotes and melancholic impressions, through a palette of racy, finely placed colors, which he also proposed with eloquence in superb and unforgettable still lifes. Died on December 31, 2000. Text by André Ruellan, art critic.
