Description
This work explores the beauty of lines and contrasts through a female figure seen from behind, wearing a blue-and-white striped dress. The flowing drapes and expressive brushstrokes create a visual interplay between the structure of the stripes and the freedom of movement.
The artist uses a soft color palette, dominated by blues, whites, and warm skin tones, to evoke an atmosphere that is both serene and dynamic. The reflections of light and the layering of paint add a subtle depth, characteristic of Drouet's style, where emotion and abstraction blend harmoniously.
This composition invites the viewer to contemplate the grace and elegance of the human body, while celebrating the freedom of artistic expression.
Presentation
Born in 1961 Jean Marie Drouet is graduated from the Fine Arts School of Angoulême. He likes drawing and making lot of photos before beginning a painting. He is inspired by contemporary photography and film culture that gives him an optimistic look on the world.
Referring to the American realistic painters such as N.C Wyeth or Edward Hopper, life’s scenes and characters are his favorite subjects. He is also fascinated by strong light contrasts and minimalistic settings. Sunlight is everywhere in Jean Marie Drouet paintings showing us the beautiful side of life.; his painting is quiet and bright aiming the beauty of the present time.
