Multidisciplinary by training, Benjamin Debayle began his career as a visual artist in 2008 when he began to participate in events and exhibitions in the urban art world under the pseudonym KHAT in Strasbourg. He then follows his own artistic path and thus develops his practice, especially in the field of painting.

His multiple inspirations, from ethnic and primitive art, science such as cosmology, anatomy or biology, esotericism, through science fiction and pop culture from which he comes by generational definition are interwoven and respond to each other through shapes and colors.

His practice may consist of making numerous representations that he re-examines, cuts, erases, turns, deconstructs in order to gradually identify the ephemeral that emerges from them in order to then attempt to recompose and crystallize these mixtures of layers, symbols of appearances. . This principle of creation results in part from the essence of urban art but also from the desire to signify construction, the structure of things.

Being very attracted by the primary things that emanate from everything that seems complex, his art translates his questions where the work of color, abstract and simple lines put in opposition to the realisms of the material support a directive of symbolic and pictorial confrontation. He then tries to put forward the light in the face of nothingness, the color in the neutral and to reveal another reality.

He sees his practice as a multiple field of exploration and testing in perpetual evolution. Attempt and error are constantly present. It assumes that movement, transformation, and evolution are the main engines of all things.
