Cokho

Born in 1963 in Agen, Cokho graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Reims in 1984. She started her career as a teacher of advertising creativity, which did not stop her from opening her own studio of architectural models.

At the age of 25, she travelled across Africa. It was then that she started painting. She chose oil painting and various and natural supports such as driftwood or pebbles. Three years later, she moved to Costa Rica for a decade. During this period, she was strongly influenced by the colors of the fauna and flora. Her works increasingly adopt a graphic, naive aspect. After many stays in Bali where she tried doing collage of bamboo blades painted on linen, she returned to Europe and settled in Barcelona for 6 years. The city of Gaudi inspired her. Cockho started practicing sculpture and mosaic there. With all these experiences, Cokho creates brightly colored paintings which are stronlgy influenced by her trips.
