Biography

PiA has been Pierre-Alain's nickname since childhood for his family and friends. It is also the one he chose as his artist name because his feminine sound represents the creative facet of his character.

Self-taught, this trained researcher began drawing portraits 30 years ago on the benches of the Faculty of Science. For many years, he did not show this artistic side, outside of his family context. However, in the evening, in his studio, he developed his secret garden by exploring different techniques: watercolors, acrylics, pastels, oils, inks, and multiple themes, gradually moving from reproduction as close as possible to the subject to an expression. more free and personal.

In 2014, during a training to become a coach, Pierre-Alain, the expert, finally released PiA, the painter. He then felt ready to exhibit himself and thus share the pleasure of creating. Over time, PiA asserted its style, based on intuitive work and a desire to capture and transcribe the emotion of a look, of a subject. If he tackles many themes (animals, sports, cars, etc.), his favorite subject is portraiture.

The mixed technique (acrylics, pastels, inks, collages, sanding) and the variety of supports (canvas, wood, reclaimed paper) bring richness and diversity to his work and make each canvas a unique piece, always with the same goal: arouse emotion.
