Born in Saint-Jean de braye (France), in 1989. Lives and works in Île de France.
Jérémy Louvencourt studied graphic design and applied arts in Lyon and Toulouse. He graduated from the École des Arts Appliqués [DSAA] Création / Design with an option in visual communication, in Toulouse in 2011.
Fascinated by the non-perceptible structures of the living that shape the biological, Jérémy Louvencourt draws from interpretations of the world that call upon animism, shamanism or esotericism. By meticulously selecting his supports, even making their research a cult act, Jérémy Louvencourt prepares a graphic tension that in the repetition of the gesture seeks less to find an origin than to measure itself against its trace.
The experimentation engages the medium and the body of the artist just as our gaze engages in his images that act upon us. Hans Belting reminds us that in primitive societies, "a magical act of dedication or consecration was an indispensable condition to guarantee the transformation of the medium into an image". It is to this act that Jeremy Louvencourt's work echoes, reviving the anthropological function of the image.
