Biography

Julien Gustave Gagliardini (1846-1927). Born in Mulhouse and died in Paris. French painter, history, genre scenes, portraits and animated landscapes, engraver. He had Soulary and L. Cogniet as masters. Member of French artists since 1883. Awards: Honorable mention 1883, third class medal 1884, second class 1886, silver medal 1889 (universal exhibition), knight of the legion of honor 1893, gold medal 1900.
