Isabelle Domagé Gerson manifested her penchant for drawing very early. First self-taught, she took classes for 9 years in a workshop, then attended La Sorbonne in the plastic arts section. Spontaneously, she goes towards the abstract and we often lend her connections with Joan Mitchell whom she did not know at the time. It was a revelation that led her to take an interest in painters of lyrical abstraction and in particular in American expressionist currents, Joan Mitchell, Pollock, De Kooning, Hans Hartung, but also Cy Twombly ...


Isabelle Domagé Gerson creates powerful paintings, a new understanding of the world, in vibrant colors, often gathered in series. In his lyrical abstractions, the gesture defines his painting. Inspired by reading, music, moments, these signs, these colors, these silences question the spectator on what escapes him. Lights and colors in full agitation, Infinite Nature which carries, which calms, which suspends time…
