Biography
Gabrielle Hollensett is a painter born in 1951 in Valenciennes. Self-taught, she started painting in 1972, and decided to dedicate to her passion in 2005. She currently lives between Haute-Marne and the Island of Ré.
Gabrille Hollensett's style is personal and is constantly evolving, mixing figuration and abstraction. Painting allows her to capture and freeze, emotions felt at a particular moment. She seeks to depict moments and moods in order to create a symbiosis between her inner self and her work. She uses brushes and knives and plays constantly with light and colors.
Her canvases represents ports, cranes and construction sites of her native region, which over time, became a real mirror of her emotions.
A member of the Maison des Artistes, Gabrielle Hollensett regularly exhibits her work in the Island of Ré and in Chaumont. Her work is permanently present at the Royal Gallery of Rochefort.
