Antoine Bertrand

Biography

Initially influenced by comic strips and street art, Antoine Bertrand did a training in cartoons at the San Luc Institute in Brussels and then acquired his style which led him to graphically assert himself in the world of cartoons.

After discovering Africa and Asia, he questioned everything and decided to devote himself to painting. He focuses his work around animals, he prefers them to humans but the Japanese culture remains his major source of inspiration.

Indeed, his curiosity for pictorial techniques, especially Asian ones encourage him to travel and achieve more knowledge. He has been able to develop a range of know-how, going from ceramic painting to mural frescoes, created in painting saber. He makes his own sabers and produces his own painting. Therefore, with the help of traditional and modern tools, he is able to express his fascination for nature in his work, where the relationship with emotion takes place in an instinctive manner.
