Biography
Vera Komnig is an independent artist currently living in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany. As a qualified graphic designer, she ran her own advertising studio before devoting herself entirely to painting and art.
Vera Komnig is a representative of abstract expressionism and is known for her gestural, powerful paintings. She loves to see her work emerge in the freshness of every new moment and allows the developing image a maximum of freedom.
Her expressive works, which are close to Informel, develop a magical atmosphere with the freely guided, gestural brushstrokes, which enables the viewer to discover his own world. Her pictures breathe freedom and give permission to “be like this".
Statement:
For me only the moment counts, the always new instant, born out of silence.
Everything arises from just this one moment and as artist I “catch" these instants, watch how they develop and tell their story.
As an artist, I am a storyteller.
